Downtown Branson Hotels

Downtown is where Branson got its start around 1888. It's a shopping and entertainment destination with the flavor of an "old time" Main Street, preserved building facades, brick sidewalks and Victorian lamp posts. Historic downtown Branson is located just east of Hwy 65 along the shores of Lake Taneycomo.

All About Downtown Branson

There is a lot to do in historic downtown Branson, MO. This part of the city dates back to 1888. Visitors to this area can attend shows, eat, shop, see historic sites and visit Branson Landing. Branson visitors will be able to stay in hotels near these attractions. A free trolley takes passengers through downtown Branson to Branson Landing.

Branson became a tourist attraction during the 1980s when a number of theaters opened in the city. Some of these theaters are in downtown Branson. Singers and magicians perform at the Branson Hot Hits Theatre. Shows at the Cabaret Theater feature music from the 1970s.

There are places in downtown Branson to eat before or after seeing a show. Moussaka, paella and seafood are served at the Bleu Olive Mediterranean Grille & Bar. This restaurant is open for lunch and dinner. The Level 2 Steakhouse has steak, burgers and seafood on the menu. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Dick’s 5 & 10 is one of the places to shop in downtown Branson. The store has been open for almost 50 years and has thousands of items for sale. Hardware, toys and gifts are some of the items sold here. A variety of clocks is sold at the House of 1000 Clocks. Customers will find cuckoo clocks, wall clocks and mantel clocks here. The store will ship items to customers’ homes.

The train depot in downtown Branson was built in 1905. Visitors can take train trips on the Branson Scenic Railway in vintage passenger cars from the depot. These trips will take passengers through the foothills of the Ozarks.

Branson Landing is on the shore of Lake Taneycomo in downtown Branson. A boardwalk runs along the edge of lake. Shops, restaurants and a hotel are located at Branson Landing. Two of the largest stores here are Belk Department Store and Bass Pro Shops. Smaller stores sell clothing, jewelry and specialty items. Restaurants here serve barbecue, seafood and pizza. Visitors can stay in the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. The Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel is a short distance away.
